Topic014: Detecting Quantized Redshifts, Bill Tifft 1/24/16

This topic is a little different, and my work has been delayed because of the passing of my beloved wife Janet. I have introduced and demonstrated many of the basic concepts underlying Quantum Temporal Cosmology, many which are quite disturbing to adherents of classical cosmology and other schools of thought. There are a few things I need to make clear. Science should be a search for truth where all ideas must stand or fall on their OWN merits. I keep hearing comments that findings related to properties of work by the Arp-Burbidge-Narlikar school can be dismissed, therefore ALSO my work related to quantization and time. There is no significant overlap of my work with the premises of that school of thought. This blog topic, quite advanced for my regular topic series, is intended to explain what is actually required to understand and test QTC. Tests must utilize correct procedures and examine predictions and evidence representing QTC’s own unique findings.

Topic013: Quantum Periodicity Uniqueness, Completeness, Bill Tifft, 11/15/15

With the recognition of how to precisely predict redshift periodicities the underlying basis of Quantum Temporal Cosmology is essentially complete. One task remains. How complete and unique is the periodicity pattern? Are there other decay processes and redshift patterns hidden in known data? Three studies have been made to look for power inconsistent with the Lehto-Tifft equations. No deviations have been detected.

Topic012: The Quantum Periodicity Structure, Energy Level Decay, Bill Tifft, 10/12/15

It was apparent from early differential and global studies that redshift periods appeared to be related in some form of harmonic pattern associated with an interval near 72.5 km/s. A key step in understanding that pattern came in early 1993 when Ari Lehto, a physicist in Finland, wrote to me with a reprint of his work. He had found that he could closely represent the mass of the electron and other particle properties along with the initial redshift periodicities we had found. The premise was simply begin with the Planck units, which mark the origin point of known physics, and allow them to decay by a well known process of period doubling.

Topic011: The Cosmic Rest Frame, An Unobstructed View, Bill Tifft, 9/2/15

By early 1991 we had detected global quantization, recognized variability of redshift, and had a good model for cosmic corrections due to large scale curvature in time. We were ready to look deeper into space and time using 21-cm redshift samples, our own and new data becoming available from studies at Arecibo. We had begun global work using the galactocentric rest frame, but needed to turn to the more fundamental cosmic rest frame to connect with cosmology and understand the relationship of our quantization studies to the cosmic background radiation work revealed by the COBE project.

Topic010: The Cosmological Correction, Curvature In Time, Bill Tifft, 8/15/15

The late 1970s through early 1990s marked a period when much progress was made defining basic properties of redshift quantization and its implications. The local galactocentric global nature of quantized redshifts and recognition that the redshift was variable and rapidly evolving were discussed previously. To extend redshift periodicity studies to higher redshift it became apparent that a z dependent distortion in the phasing of redshift periodicities must be present due to curvature in the structure of QTC on the large scale. This topic reviews the large scale temporal structure of QTC and discusses the `cosmological correction’ which corrects for curvature of time. The study also resolves the `flatness’ paradox of conventional cosmology.

Topic009: Redshift Variability, Quantum Evolution, Bill Tifft: 7/10/15

In any expanding evolving cosmology, in continuous or quantum physics, the redshift must change with time. Classically it is very unlikely such change on the human time scale would be detectable. However, redshift variability became obvious as soon as new redshifts obtained between 1984-86 were compared with older surveys done between the 1960s and early 1980s. Redshift changes, much larger than any uncertainties, primarily shifts toward lower values, are present and become increasingly greater the older the past observations are for many galaxies. The redshift can apparently shift in quantum steps in just a few years as it cascades between longer more stable periods. This topic describes the discovery and initial study of the effect.

Topic008: Global Quantization, The Galactocentric Rest Frame, Bill Tifft 6/30/15

Discovery of redshift quantization in clusters of galaxies, with subsequent studies of double galaxies using differential redshifts, established that the redshift appeared to occur in periodic steps near 72.5 km/s or related multiples. The next step was to see if the redshift could be phased together globally. To accomplish that a transformation to the galactic center and precise 21-cm radio redshifts were required. This topic fills in background and implications of what is to come. The redshift is indeed globally quantized.

Topic007: Testing Large Scale Dynamics: Double Galaxies II, Bill Tifft 6/08/15

Topic 004 and Topic 005 indicate that the redshift of galaxies occurs in periodic `quantum’ steps. Such quantized steps appear to indicate that there is no gravitational connection or classical motion between galaxies. Double galaxies, the classical two body problem, provided the ideal testing ground for this hypothesis. As noted in Topic006 double galaxies yielded fundamental tests and information of three types, two independent motion tests, and the apparent form of large scale structure. In this topic I will introduce large scale structure and discuss orientation of pairs on the large scale as the second test for gravitationally induced motion. The test is completely independent of the quantization test discussed in Topic006.

Topic006: Testing the Quantum Concept: Double Galaxies I, Bill Tifft 4/25/15

With the emergence of evidence in Topics 004 and 005 that the redshift of galaxies appeared to occur in periodic `quantum’ steps it was obvious that new observational tests were needed to verify and define properties of such a model. Quantized steps clearly appeared to allow no gravitational connection or classical motion between galaxies. The obvious testing ground involved double galaxies, the ideal cosmological example of the two body problem. In fact double galaxies yielded fundamental tests and information of three types, two independent motion tests, and the apparent form of large scale structure. In this topic I will discuss verification of quantization of the redshifts.

Topic005: The Redshift Is Quantized, Bill Tifft: 3/27/15

As redshift quality continued to improve a still finer structure emerged. Redshifts appear to assume a periodic quantized pattern, occupying specific steps in a decay or excitation process which can potentially be described by a quantum wave function. The source function appears to take the form of a quantum dipole embedded in galaxy nuclei. Preservation of the pattern implies there is little or no evidence that gravitationally induced motion can play any significant role between galaxies on the large scale. Publication of such new and controversial concepts is a complex problem.
